This pie chart depicts what factors make up fat loss. The specific numbers are not important; they're estimates at best. Note that I'm only going over variables that individuals can directly control and manipulate. The point I want to drive home is that nutrition is by far and above the most important determinant of fat loss - namely, a consistent calorie deficit along with ample protein is required for fat loss to take place. After that, resistance training is also crucial as it helps retain lean body mass in an energy deficit. And cardio is considered to be the least important, contrary to what most people think. Finally, underlying all of this is sleep and stress. While resting well every night and having low stress won't alone make you shredded, they can absolutely hinder progress - and at times even sabotage it - when not properly managed.
