Whenever there are troubles, or even if there are none, it is always wonderful to take a break from the daily grind. Whatever your belief, or non belief, we all need somewhere to have a quick vacation. Mine just happens to be my belief in the Lord. Have a wonderful day all :)

As the New Year is about to arrive, I am reminded that whilst memories and the past may be wonderful we must always strive to improve. Much like the Merlin Fortius, now getting old though it was great back in the day, it may remind one of the wonderful past, but with subtly chosen updated parts to take account of the future and adapt and improve as necessary it is ready to see more Road time and create some wonderful future memories. Have a wonderful 2018 guys. May god bless all with the ability to continually improve whilst not losing track of where we came from. Be safe guys and see you all next year!

Merry Xmas fellow Rapha Junkies! Some things are just not meant to be. Rapha 500 was doomed from the start. Day one had me with what I thought was a case of food poisoning so it was a zero for km. Day two and I decided to give it a shot even though feeling a bit off with very little in the tank. Targetted 150km and ended with only 80km after a major stop at the errr public toilets. Headed home and the unpleasantries continued. Woke up for Day Three and still feeling totally off. No way I will be catching up now. No abilities like my super butted friend @jeffkeng. But all the while the Wahoo elemnt bolt never missed a beat. Love this computer. Definitely my go too computer. Great start to the Rapha 500. Day one had food poisoning so was a no show. Day two finally out and managed 80km before a trip needed to the old errrr toilet and that was the end of that. Thinking this stomach flu or whatever it is ain't gonna give me a reprieve this festive season. Ah well. In an attempt to get me to ride outdoors more the legendary folks at the best bike shop on planet earth, @t3teamturtle, passed me a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt to try out. Now they really shouldn't have done that. Why? Because it has instantly made me realise a piece of junk the SRM PC8 is in terms of its interface (granted it still has the best info post ride summary for info whores which I am a bit of one) and how the Garmin 810 (albeit a bit old) is really not that intuitive either... though easier than the SRM. The Wahoo is insanely easy to use with a gorgeous smart phone interface, gives me all the metrics I need, has GPS route directions (ok it seemed a bit dodgy today and couldn't find me a way home... suspect I'm using it wrong) and the screen is only (marginally) second to the SRM. The GPS works a treat (SRM get your act together, why on earth do I need a speed sensor and GPS in this day and age on a clear day). Only downside... it looks just a little cheap. But hey its otherwise perfect. SRM stop living in the past and come up with something easy to use please, that has a proper GPS signal and actual WiFi enabled systems (all the more irritating given the darn price of the Wahoo which is so ridiculously cheap compared to the SRM and Garmin). Today had the Wahoo teamed up with my Garmin heart rate monitor and the Rotor 2inpower cranks. The perfect set up. Enough said. Thanks a million Nic at T3 Bicycles. You have converted me. Where can I throw that SRM. wahooelemnt wahooligan wahoobolt srmpc8 garmin810 t3bicyclegears

I can finally have a power meter on my Moots without forsaking the THM Clavicula cranks that I love so dearly on that bike. Can't wait to install them and give them a go.

A confused look for sure. Roadie on a vintage MTB. Bike is a vintage Moots YBB (that is around 20 years old if memory serves me right) with an eclectic mix of parts that I am slowly transforming to period correct accessories. Have always loved my vintage 26er mountain bikes as that is where I started cycling in ernest. But now I only ride roads and the vintage bikes are relegated to cruising the streets on my recovery ride days (which I seem to have too many of). @lollerskater u can see my love of Moots extends a bit beyond our lovely modern road bikes ;) @jimaledzurc great to see u this morning Brother! vintagemtb rapharcc vintagemootsybb mootsybb mootsmtb assosbib

The Moots Vamoots RSL. One of the sweetest bikes I own, and a brand that brings me back to my bicycling origins of mountain biking even though I am only riding roadies nowadays. On par with my Indyfab, all the sweetness of titanium with no drawbacks. I can't imagine a bike I would rather be on today. Combined with the SRM PC8, a tech leader in cycle computers custom painted in black and pink (hints of Rapha). This computer took a bit of time to get used to but is now almost as intuitive as my go to Garmin 810. But the the screen display is definitely best in class. But for the price. No maps. Not that I use them in Singapore. But.... Hmm.

I have lead a pretty interesting life thus far. So distant from perfect and the antithesis of what one would consider Godly, that even if I wrote some of my memoirs I am pretty sure they would find their way into the fiction section of a bookstore (or at least the horror section). However, I have no regrets as God (whatever we may call him depending on religious belief) never gave up on me and I finally opened my eyes to him. I feel amazingly blessed to have found Him, and for Him to have never left me even in my darkest of moments. Still trying to improve and still full of sin, these little Baby steps that I am trying to take towards him, I know are the beginning of a love and relationship that will never end. Have a blessed and wonderful week ahead to all! Even to my dear atheist friends (I was an atheist for the longest time even though brought up in a religious family)... kick butt and have an amazing week ahead. And here is to more great riding, travelling and exploring!

The Quoc Night lace up are a pretty nice pair of lace ups. Adding to my line up of old school lace shoes (I am becoming the Imelda Marcos of Bike shoes), and I am sold on the classic style and amazing fit and equal pressure of lace ups. These are not as light or as stiff as my all time favourite GiroEmpire SLX, but are ultra stylish and very well made. Bought them a size bigger as have found I like more space in the toe area after I got spoilt by the more generous sizing of my Lake 237s. So now even though I'm a 43 in Sidi I pretty much go half to a full size up (43.5 in the case of the Quoc and 44 in the case of the Giro Empire SLX) in my bike shoes. Heck I may look like Ronald Mcdonald now but I sure feel more comfortable! Haha. quocpham Quocnight quocshoes @quocphamshoes

Spending more time on the Wahoo as the rainy season arrives. Zwift has been misbehaving a bit lately with the heavier usage coming thanks to the winter months starting to roll in for our friends in the northern hemisphere. But regardless it's still the best way for me to get motivated to get on the bike. I can't imagine a day without zwift... and will gladly sacrifice an outdoor ride for a zwift session.
