The number 1 thing I can't stress enough, is to focusing on building your physique FIRST, before "just prepping" for a show. . More often than not, an individual is not even in a healthy/optimal position to prep in the first place. . Stop trying to get on stage as fast as possible, it is not the only way to improve your physique and "look better". . If you want to compete, and truly be competitive. Take time to build a competitive physique before you prep. . Build first, then win 1st. .. oh and happy thanksgiving

About a 5 month progress difference here for @ohlivefit Kristin just finished up a very successful building phase. Significant muscle tissue put on pretty much everywhere. . 🔹Consistency/Discipline: I think Kristin has been off by 7g of any macro total throughout the entirety of us working together. . 🔹Full transparency: if something is off, or there are external stress factors, she makes sure i know about it. Keeping factors like that from your coach is going to get you nowhere fast. . 🔹Prioritization: Kristin came with one goal set: i want to compete. Every move she makes, is towards the direction of that goal. Every meal, every rep, every set. Her drive alone speaks for itself. Looking forward to this ones bikini debut come 2018.

Running low on energy, fullness, and picture quality. Lol Intensity is something a lot of athletes "claim" they have training on their own, when nobody is watching. And I'll be the first to call bull. I have been privileged to be able to work with @talonosmon hands on since the day we started working together about 8 months ago. I have pushed him to the limit; and he has done so to me. I have watched him through high and low motivation points. The underlying factor here is simple. As a coach, I never let this man slack for a single rep. His physique and progress scream the amount of work ethic and dedication he holds as an athlete. Some talk; while others do. We've got 15 days for Talon to get even tighter and fill out like a damn sponge. What a year this last one has been. From all of the new people I've been fortunate enough to meet, to new business ventures, to people I've cut out of my life. 23 was a year of pure growth for me. Current physique: 14 year old girl who just started lifting. I'm at that point in my off season where I'm not that lean and not that big either 😂😭😭😭 But hey, growing is a process. Take it slow, do it right. Focus on longevity here. Take into account long term success over short term satisfaction. Everybody in this generation just want everything RIGHT NOW, everyone feels entitled to have everything that want immediately without struggling to achieve it, so that they can maintain it once they get there. Fun fact that most people don't know: I'm completely self taught on the piano. Ive never taken lessons. When I was in high school, there was an old piano in the back of one of my classrooms. The minute I sat down at it, I literally just fell in love with the sounds it made. I've been "playing" on and off for about 7 years now. This piano, is probably one of my number 1 stress relievers that I use. When I start playing , i just get lost in the sound of music. Completely at peace. Well last night went amazing to say the least. @ariansnt ended up taking home: 1st place for best presentation, 1st place in her class, 1st place overall, and won her pro card!!😳 So I would say it was a pretty successful show for this one. To say I am proud, would be an understatement. Arian is such a hard worker and was hungrier than ever to win this show. That internal drive; is truly what makes the difference. This is what it looks like when you try to freestyle after about 3 years off and then hurt yourself 😂😂😂😂 But really, dance use to be a HUGE part of my life, like 99%. I will always have love and passion for it, there are just a lot of things I need to prioritize instead at the moment. Fear. The number one reason we don't try. The number one reason we stop pushing ourselves to be better. To get a better job, to make more money, better our physiques, change our diets, etc. The number one reason is fear. Fear of failure. I am even guilty of this. Life is scary. Period. However, I have learned over time to just trust myself and trust my gut.(which is larger than normal currently 😂) Because I know, that if I go in for something big, I won't fail. I simply won't let it happen. There are a lot of HUGE business opportunities that I am working on at the moment, and every single one of them scare the absolute shit of me. Which gets me excited at the same time. Most people's "one liner" for not trying is usually: "well, what happens if I fail, then what?" ...well. What happens if you don't?

This is about a 2- 2 1/2 month difference here. Think it's safe to say this off season is going fairly well and we've gotten down with the thickness lol Shoutout to @nicktongstrong for pushing me to eat more and grow even when I'm being a little girl about it 😂🙏🏻 There was a huge part of me a long time ago that made abs run my life so much to the point where I would have rather been skinny and make no size gains just to hold onto being "lean". I honestly couldn't give 2 💩 about abs right now for a few reasons: - I am enjoying my life with my friends; family and loved ones . -I'm stronger and bigger than I've ever been, and am getting stronger every week. -my mental state is the healthiest it's ever been in regards to food, social outings, days I can't really track, etc. -gains. Does fat gain happen in your off season? Yup. Do you need to be in a surplus in order to build and make improvements to your physique? Yup. Will it be worth it? Donuts. bulklife

Client spotlight today: @desb___ From eating 1250 calories on the left, to current off season physique eating right at 2950 calories on the right. So how did she do it? There's a few factors involved in maximizing the effectiveness of your off season. Everybody wants to just dive into a prep for a show without taken an off season first and truly building up a physique, the result? Your going to look stringy and flat on stage and probably won't get as lean as you could of if you had a real off season. - take things slow. Especially if you're coming off a prep, your body is a fat storing machine at that point. The first 6-8 weeks of ones off season/reverse diet are make or break when it comes to that off season as a whole. - Prioritize your training; focus on bringing up weak points and shift your training focus to prioritize them. While your goal should be building muscle overall, all improvements are made in the off season, so use it wisely to build where you need to. - Be consistent. Consistent efforts are going to produce consistent results. Period. Now, while you have a little more "leniency" in your off season, that is not an excuse to eat like an asshole. Fat gain should be kept to a minimum, although it is inevitable that it will occur. Thats just what happens in a caloric surplus. - Trust your coach. This is probably number 1. Des has 110% full trust in me. Very seldom does she question what we are doing and when we do it. She gives 130% in the gym and to her diet. Does she fall off here and there? Of course, she's human. But she is also 100% transparent with me so that we can make necessary adjustments to get her right back on track. She has made this off season count, there's no doubt about that. Very excited to have this one entering her competition season soon. 😈 cause she's going to do some damage.

Over a 2 year difference here. End of a "dirty bulk" on the left; not tracking food whatsoever, just eating as much as I could, a whole pizza after every leg workout etc. The one on the right, 2 weeks out of last show and i actually weighed more than the picture on the left by roughly 5lbs. When I did that "dirty bulk", I thought, more is better! The more I eat, the bigger I'll get. And that was true... for my stomach. not my muscle tissue. My metabolism was absolutely destroyed and it's taken me over 2 years of consistently tracking my macros/calories to fix it. Had I not gone "balls to the wall" and took things slower and did it RIGHT, I'd probably be a little further than I am currently. But ya live and you learn 🤷🏻‍♂️ Everyone wants INSTANT gratification in this sport, but slow and steady will always win at the end. Take your time and lay your bricks firm. Your future self will thank you for your patience ! (Keep in mind this picture is also the end of a bulk compared to the end of a prep, and over 2 years apart, so this crazy difference is just gonna happen from "fixing your metabolism" transformationtues
