Final light/fk-around squat session done, finally happy with how my squat is looking & moving. Slowly introducing wraps back in, RIP to the skin around my knees. crankit I’ve become a big believer in training to competition standard if prepping for a meet, training habits carry over to comp more often than not & the last thing you want is to be missing your openers since you can’t squat to depth or lock your deadlift out etc. Anyone else have the same approach or just YOLO touch n go, half-squat everything? @animalpak @topmark_performance_nutrition

Playing around with the 140lb & 130lb DB’s today. Haven’t done heavy DB benching in possibly 6+ months and surprisingly strength isn’t down too much, shaky reps though lol. This is one of the rare times where I don’t have any shoulder, knee or elbow niggles. I feel like this is one of the better starting points I’ve had for any meet prep (glute issue aside) I’d attribute this to smart intuitive lifting & supplementing with Animal Flex for the past few months. It could be a powerlifting prep, bodybuilding prep or just trying to stay on top of your game. A combination of a joint complex & multi-vitamin will cover your bases. I’ll be using Animal Pak & Flex for the next few months to try minimise health & joint issues for this prep. First conventional deadlifts of the year, playing around with 224kg for some low rep sets. I’ll be committing to hook grip this year along with more belt-less work. For some reason I’ve recently been getting asked what my typical delt routine is. It is literally 80% side raises with the occasional overhead press of some sort 😅 But the catch is, I’d be inclined to say the majority of people have subpar form & engagement of the delts during raises. Heck, some of the form I’ve seen in person makes me worry. tbt to the leanest I got last year at 103kg. Admittedly the dieting I did last year was pretty laid back with many cheat meals & not much of a deficit. It was basically a IIFYM structure with occasional intermittent fasting, no meal plans here bruh. Looking forward to what can be achieved this year, I really want to hit a similar condition at just under 110 but of course this is a powerlifting orientated year so it’s going to be a mission juggling the two. @animalpak @topmark_performance_nutrition
