Okay so this might be a little stalker'ish but I so don't know this guy. Whenever I'm skiing I take photos of the mountains because they look AMAZING to me but often the shots don't translate onto Instagram and probably I'm more enthusiastic about mountains than some. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ So I was looking for something for this shot and old mate skied right in. This was either peak 6 or 7, I literally can't remember anymore. There is so much terrain here! The snow conditions at the moment are pretty sweet, getting a few inches every day. The Breck Instagram account is great at updating conditions if you're thinking of coming - BreckenridgeMtn Breck

A little more about the skiing here in Breckenridge ... As many of you know I started skiing only three years ago on an Instagram trip and I took to it like a duck to water! πŸ¦†πŸ‘‰πŸ»πŸ’¦β›· Since then I've had some good times and bad times on the slopes, last year I tore muscles in both calves with separate injuries. Haha. So I hit Breckenridge hoping to gain my confidence back and start perfecting some technique again. Breck partnered me with a ski instructor by the name of Ben Pleimann for three days of lessons and I am feeling AMAZING! (If you come here promise you'll ask for Ben at Ski School) I've now skied all five peaks and covered green, blue and black terrain. My report card awarded me a level 7, which is apparently not bad. Haha. If you've never skied before and you have questions please feel free to ask and I'll answer as best as I can. Skiing has really become an enjoyable pastime for me these past three years and I love that I'd never even entertained the thought of trying before my travels started. βœˆοΈπŸŒŽβ›·πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ’™πŸ“·β€οΈBreckenridgeMtn Breck

These things are for realz in the US, tiny and adorable little A frame cabins in the snow. Although I've been spending roughly 90% of my time skiing I have managed to get out and about for some walks, meals and even Margarita's at 'Rita's'. I am in LOVE with Breckenridge and with Colorado. It's actually night night time for me in Colorado, I'm exhausted after another big day on the slopes. This shot is from my second night in Breckenridge. I was walking down from my hotel to dinner at Relish (highly recommend!) when I saw this gorgeous pink in the sky. This photo is literally the car park near Main Street and it's just lucky I had my Olympus on me. Although there are great shuttle services running into town I prefer to walk most days, Main Street is about 15 minutes from where I'm staying at the DoubleTree. πŸ’•πŸ“·πŸŒ„πŸ’ƒπŸΌ BreckenridgeMtn Breck

I'm just lying in the bath after a few hours of skiing, does anyone else gram in the bath? I feel like it's an advanced instagramming technique! Haha. I am in Breckenridge Colorado on the job of a lifetime and I've finally managed to take the skis off for a minute to start editing some photos of my adventures. Not only is Breckenridge, or Breck as us cool people say πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚, a world class ski resort but the town is unlike anywhere I've ever been before. It is so CUTE! I've got lots of pics and stories to share, as always, and I look forward to chatting about this great experience. As always, ask as many questions as you want! BreckenridgeMtn Breck

This is a bit of a switch up because I have an exciting announcement! Gold Coast Tourism have recently rebranded and their new Instagram is DestinationGoldCoast ! They're also running a massive photography competition for the next six weeks starting today! Each week I will be announcing that weeks theme and all you have to do to enter is upload a photo for the theme and use WeAreGoldCoast , preferably in your caption. This week is week one and the theme is: Local Characters – who are the locals that make the Gold Coast the place it is today? What is their story? What makes them unique? Why do you consider them to be a local character? We want to see weather beaten to wide-eyed or just plain wild – who makes up this wonderful community tapestry? I have chosen to shoot my Dreamboat because I love the cultural diversity on the Gold Coast and my Zimbabwean community makes the Gold Coast very unique. Good luck and I can't wait to see your pics!

This is a very special, last Japan shot dedicated to Japan Airlines JapanAirlines_JAL ! Airline support is so important when I'm working internationally and not only did JAL jump on board the Japan campaign but they upgraded me to Premium Economy seats. I haven't flown much premium economy because I've always thought it wasn't much of a step up from economy, umm it totally is. Japan Airlines PE gave me heaps more space, goodies, great food and slippers with a shoe horn for later. I couldn't even believe it, a shoe horn! I haven't seen one since I was a kid. Haha. So I dedicate this flying crane to JAL, thank you for having me. VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan β€οΈπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅βœˆοΈ

Omg! I can't even believe it.... CHERRY BLOSSOMS! 🌸🌸🌸 So I have a friend in Japan, you might have heard of him moonlightice 😱, and he doesn't speak much English and I speak no Japanese but we hang out anyway. He suggested, via a message translated in google, that we should go to Kawazu to see the early start to the Cherry Blossom season. At first I was kind of skeptical, it was my last day in Japan and I had a million things I wanted to do in Tokyo (go to a Hedgehog cafe, get a fairy floss bigger than my head etc) but I decided Masaya must know what he was talking about and we travelled two hours by train to Kawazu, spent two hours with the cherry blossoms and then two hours back to Tokyo for me to catch my connection to the airport! Was it worth it? Yes! Do I need to go back to Japan to go to a hedgehog cafe? Yes! Make it happen VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan 🌸🌸❀️🌸🌸

I've already posted one shot of the red crested cranes in the Tsurui-Ito Tancho Sanctuary Hokkaido but I had a few favorites to share. I went in to shoot here knowing absolutely nothing about the animals or their behaviors but it's easy to identify some habits after watching for a time. I often saw two at once calling out at the same time and their breath would catch in the air, I though it looked awesome. VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

I'm having a field day today with all my Japan shots, this is the last one I promise! (For the day though, I still have cherry blossom shots up my sleeve 😱🌸) This is the final shot I'm sharing from Lake Kussharo and it's a sunrise selfie. It was a bit of a jog to run into the shot in time and I actually wanted to be centered but sat my butt on the wrong post, haha. I'm like the worst photographer ever! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. We drove from Abashiri (where I took the iceberg/ beach shot) up through the frozen trees road and then to Lake Kussharo and finally Lake Mashu. Then it was only 20km to my hotel. Highly recommended Japanese road trip! VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

I wasn't sure about posting this shot because I had such flat light but the experience was so incredible I had to share it. This is an ice breaker! 😱😱😱 It's a ship that breaks ice and I don't know any of the technical terms but that big metal doobie underneath just churns through it. The name of the ship is 'Garinko-Go' and this was the one experience where I saw a lot of tourists, in other parts of Hokkaido I almost had the entire place to myself. It's about a one hour cruise and a really fun experience, my first time on ice water in a ship. VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

Good morning Australia! Don't forget that Japan Tourism have a big campaign running at the moment and you can win a trip to Japan, perhaps to retrace my steps! The link is up in my profile and it's super easy to enter, you've probably seen a million people entering on my feed already. Haha. This is another shot from my incredible sunset at Lake Mashu and I took this photo at 600mm, very very zoomed in. Although the sky didn't light up completely the rays and after glow made for some really beautiful photography. VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

Believe it or not I did manage to get some landscape shooting in in Japan and finally the skies started to behave for me, those that know me know I get approximately 3 good sunrises a year. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ This is Lake Mashu and we came here for sunrise before going to see the cranes. There is a big lookout and pull over area with the most stunning views over the mountains and frozen lake and this is also where all of those frozen trees are. It is heaven! VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

Omg, I am so excited to share this shot! Yes I've been keeping quite on this one haven't I? This is the Tsurui-Ito Tancho Sanctuary in Hokkaido and it was formed in 1987 by the wild bird society of Japan to protect red-crowned cranes. My driver pulled up and I literally walked to the fence line, pulled out my 300mm (equivalent 600mm) Olympus super zoom and sat on my butt taking photos until they told me I had to leave. Lol. These birds are hilarious, I will post a couple more if I can because they do the funniest things. One bird kept 'catching' a twig and flapping up into the air with it giving a big show. There were a LOT of photographers around but plenty of space for shooting. Make sure you google it for opening times if you go to Hokkaido but it is free. VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

New photos! I finally smashed through some editing and have some new favorite Japan shots to share. This was a tree lined road that we drove through on the way to Cape Notoro and the Sea of Okhotsk. On the way back out I asked if we could stop for a classic road selfie shot. As a lot of you know I hate taking photos of myself and will use just about anyone for a model to avoid it myself but I didn't think my older Japanese guide would love to be in my photos. Lol. I had to set up a pretty long timer for this one because the road was icy and I didn't relish running up the road and taking photos of myself on my butt. πŸ™Š VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

This is Masu-ura beach in the city of Abashiri, Hokkaido. Originally this wasn't on my Japan schedule but my driver offered to take me to where the ice meets the sea and this was the place! I can't really describe what it feels like to be at the beach and walking in snow instead of sand. I wanted to get out onto some of the icebergs for a photo but had to be very careful not to stand on an unknown block of ice and sink, luckily others had been before me and I could see some footprints leading the way. I got some cool little mobile time-lapses of the ice rising and falling with the swell and probably spent at least an hour down here alone. Bliss! VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

I've just been looking through some of my Japan edits and I hope you all like dreamy blues because I photographed a lot of it. Until I get fully caught up and share my sunrises and cherry blossoms you'll have to enjoy these relaxing tones. Haha. So the other afternoon I went out on an ice breaker called the 'Garinko-Go' (shots to come) and outside the ferry terminal I found this! Not only is that an entire castle built from ice but the foreground of this shot is an ice SLIDE! A slippery slide MADE FROM ICE. I went on it twice. πŸ™ŠπŸ˜‚ VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

I had to share this shot, I've always loved a good road shot but here you can also see my ride in the distance! That's right, I was getting around the most remote part of eastern Hokkaido in an old local taxi with the sweetest driver ... he even took me to a couple of spots not on my program. 😍 These are the same ice encrusted trees I shared a couple of posts ago but here they line the road for kilometers, it's a wonder I didn't make them stop the car a hundred times. I was told that there is moisture in the air here and that's what makes it freeze like this, does anyone have a better explanation? β„οΈπŸŒ²β„οΈ VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan

So here is a little more foxy love and I asked my guide where exactly we were so you can visit too, that is if you get to these unseen parts of Japan. This is Kita-Kitsune Bokujo fox village in Onneyu Hokkaido and this is asshole fox. πŸ™ŠπŸ™ŠπŸ¦Š So this guy, as innocent as he looks, literally spent the whole time I was there harassing every other fox around. He was like your annoying little brother but worse. I loved watching him just tear the joint up and all these lovely other foxes were just chill-axing before he would run over and disturb their peace. If anyone here goes please, please tell me if you meet asshole fox. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ VisitJapanAu UnseenJapan
